主要成就
- 篩選材料並深入理解其性能與機制,成功開發出兼具優異性能、品質、安全性和商業化潛力的醫療器材及組合產品(輝瑞公司的 ADD-Vantage NG)。
- 擔任光伏材料研討會/研究計畫的協調員與聯合主席(與 UL 和 NIST 合作),並主導建立光伏材料研究聯盟,成功獲得為期三年、總額 300 萬美元的資金支持。
- 開發了一種基於機械完整性評估金屬腐蝕性的創新測試方法。
- 利用微型燃燒量熱儀(MCC)研究材料/聚合物的化學結構、組成與其易燃性之間的關係,並與 UL-94 標準進行比較分析。
- 建立聚合物老化熱力學/動力學與性能指標之間的關聯,用於預測聚合物的長期老化行為及使用壽命。
- 應用溶解度參數法研究聚合物與生物燃料(如乙醇、異丁醇、生物柴油等)的相容性,並獲得來自燃料能源產業的 70 萬美元專案資金。

- 發現了一系列新型高玻璃化轉變溫度(Tg)且相容性良好的聚酯與聚碳酸酯共混體系,適用於感光體黏合劑、光學平板顯示基板及高性能醫用塑膠。
- 探討了光聲步進掃描傅立葉變換紅外光譜(FT-IR)新技術,用於研究墨粉及顯影劑的表面與界面特性,以及聚合物共混體系中的分子間相互作用。
- 發現了氘代效應對聚合物共混體系相容性及相分離行為的影響,並利用小角中子散射及雷射光散射技術對這些行為進行了研究。

- 負責改善及製定安全標準的全球技術與專案負責人-專案包括:(1) 「太陽能光電模組及電池系統所用材料的可靠性與安全性研究」;(2) 「材料與生物燃料的相容性」;(3) 「聚合物的長期老化性能及使用壽命預測」;並與國家實驗室(ORNL、NREL、NIST)及工業界合作企業(ButamaxGE)進行新工業企業(ButamaxGE、SkWhGE)進行研究。 2011-2012年期間成功獲得70萬美元研究經費。
- 技術負責人:利用微型燃燒量熱儀 (MCC) 進行聚合物/材料的易燃性評估與分級;涉及 UL 94 標準、錐形量熱儀測試以及相關可靠性、安全性問題與標準制定。
